RUN FOR STUDENT COUNCIL AT NOTRE DAME!!!
Election Information Meetings will take place in March 2012.

It’s not too early
to start thinking about the 2012-2013 school year!
Here are some
things to consider:
1. All candidates for ASB, Class
Office, and Advisory President MUST complete the
following number of service hours
BEFORE they run for the offices listed below:
ASB – 80 hours (10 MUST be ND hours)
Senior Class Council – 45 hours (5 MUST be ND
hours)
Junior Class Council – 30 hours (5 MUST be ND
hours)
Sophomore Class Council – 15 hours (5 MUST be
ND hours)
2. You must have a g.p.a. of 2.5 or higher and no
more than 3 detentions this school year.
3. You must be willing to be a role
model, held to the highest standards of good conduct and integrity.
4. Your advisor and
faculty/staff will evaluate your contribution to your advisory, class, and the
life of the school as part of your application to run for office. You MUST be a positive and contributing
member of your advisory and to the life of the school.
5. You MUST attend the Catfight
Basketball Game (1/13) and/or the Winter Formal (2/3) and/or
the Think Pink Varsity Basketball game (2/10 @ 7:30 pm in the Moore). Make sure
you sign in for the events you attend.
6. If you are elected to class
office or ASB or you are running for Advisory President, you MUST attend
Aquacades Student Night (5/4).
7. You MUST sell at least two
books of raffle tickets for the ND Auction (in
January/February).
8. You MUST be willing to get
involved at Notre Dame. This means
that you support ALL activities by attending and promoting them (i.e. dances,
Aquacades, sporting events, etc.)
9. Class Officers
& Advisory Presidents for 2012-2013 must be able to meet with their class
coordinator on Friday, 8/17 at 10:00 am.

The leadership conference will take place on Sunday,
August 20, 2012 ~ 11:00 am – 9:30 pm. (This is the day BEFORE school
begins.) This is a MANDATORY, REQUIRED
conference. If
you are unable to attend, please do not run for office. (Participant
fee is $50, which will be turned in with your application to run for office. If this fee presents a financial
hardship for your family, please see Mrs. VK. Inability to pay the fee will not preclude you from running
for office.)

You and your parents will sign an “If You Are Elected” form outlining
required attendance at events, participation in the life of the school, and
expectations.
12.
If you are elected, you and your parents will sign a Student Council
expectations and behavioral contract
13.
All students elected for Student Council, for the 2012-2013 school
year, MUST attend the Family Barbecue, Blessing, and Commissioning Service on September 9, 2012 (afternoon).
14.
Class Presidents, Vice Presidents, and ASB officers will
attend CORE Camp (a student council leadership camp). Core Camp takes place at Menlo College from July 26 –
29, 2012. This is an overnight
camp.
If you are running for the office of ASB Officer... In addition to the information above,
please consider the following:
15. If you are running for the
office of ASB Officer and you are not currently on Student Council, you MUST
attend two Student Council Meetings prior to turning in your application to run
for office as well as an informational interview, an
election info meeting, and a parent info meeting.
16. You must currently hold or
have held a leadership position AT
Notre Dame prior to running for the office of ASB Officer. Examples of leadership positions
are: Student Council, officer of
an active club, Link Crew Leader,
Campus Ministry Leader, member of a leadership board. (Go to Student Activities if you have questions about this.)
17. ASB officers MUST
be able to be on campus 8/9, 8/10, 8/15, 8/16, 8/17 ~ 9:00 am – 4:00 pm.
