Student Government
Student Council meetings are held
twice a month. All student
body officers, class officers and advisory presidents are asked to attend, but
any student may attend a student council meeting.

Student Government Officers
ASB Officers:
Six upper class women who coordinate all student activities
throughout the year in conjunction with the Director of Student Activities.
- President: Presides at class meetings and helps plan
the agenda. Works closely with the
class-coordinator and other class officers to plan activities.
- Vice President: Assists with any projects that the president asks her to do. Usually has special events, like Ding
Bat Day, Aquacades Picnic under her direction. Takes over in the absence of the president.
- Secretary-Treasurer: Takes formal minutes at each class meeting, and distributes copies
to ASB Secretary, Class
Coordinator and Director of Activities. Keeps minutes in class binder along with Treasurers Report. Keeps track of all class funds and
makes detailed records of all cash transactions; files with Class Coordinator
and Director of Activities.
- Activities
Director: Coordinates class responsibilities for
all mixers with ASB Activities Director. Set up and staff the coat room for one dance; organize
students to help ASB decorate for the dances; Organize and staff refreshments
for one dance; take care of publicizing each mixer to class. Works with other
members of class council to organize other activities as needed.
Class Officers:
All Class Officers MUST ATTEND ALL STUDENT COUNCIL MEETINGS EVERY OTHER FRIDAY MORNING
and CLASS COUNCIL MEETINGS.

- President: Presides at class meetings and helps plan the agenda. Works closely with the class-coordinator and other class officers to plan activities. Oversees class activities.

Vice President: Assists with any projects that the president asks her to do. Usually has special events, like Ding Bat Day, Teacher Breakfast, Aquacades Picnic under her direction. Takes over in the absence of the president.

Secretary-Treasurer: Takes formal minutes at each class meeting, and distributes copies to Class Coordinator and Director of Activities. Keeps minutes in class binder along with Treasurer's Report. Keeps track of all class funds and makes detailed records of all cash transactions; files with Class Coordinator and Director of Activities.

Activities Director: Coordinates class responsibilities for all mixers with ASB. Set up and staff the coatroom for one dance; organize students to help ASB decorate for the dances; publicize each mixer to class and sells tickets. Works with other members of class council to organize other activities such as class council workshop, October spirit day, one lunchtime activity during spring semester.

Athletic Director: Is in communication with cheerleaders, mascot and sports teams about their routines and music for rallies and Aquacades. Is the person in charge of Aquacades for the class; organizes class to attend sporting events. Works closely with ASB and all members of class council.

Historian: Takes pictures of class participation in class activities for the entire year. Creates an album with names of the events and participants in each picture. In charge of providing/changing pictures in class section of photo board (near library). Responsible for providing student activities with four digital photos per month for website and possible 2008-2009 school calendar. All classmates and major events should be included: mixers, leadership training, Aquacades, rallies, and pictures of Class Council at work, etc.

Mascot: The spirit person at all rallies and Aquacades and any school event. The mascot makes up signs for crowd control at all rallies and Aquacades--"quiet" "applause" "stand up" "sit down" "cheer" etc.
Advisory Presidents:
MUST ATTEND ALL STUDENT COUNCIL MEETINGS EVERY OTHER FRIDAY MORNING. (See school calendar for exact dates and times.) Is the liaison between student council and their advisory; carries information back to advisory from student council and reports votes (such as mascot name selection, Aquacades theme selection) to class council.
