Admission Criteria

Notre Dame High School admits young women who have:

  • Successful completion of eighth grade which is generally defined as completion of courses with no grade lower than a "C-." A student with a semester or third trimester grade of "D" in seventh or eighth grade will not be accepted.
  • A minimum score at grade level on the High School Placement Test in the following areas: reading, language, and mathematics.
  • Positive recommendations by the principal and teachers from the school the student currently attends (as determined on the student transcript).
  • A recommendation following the application interview that confirms the applicant's ability to succeed at Notre Dame High School, personally and academically, and the applicant's desire to be a positive, contributing member of the Notre Dame High School student body.

Applicants who do not meet the minimum requirements, but demonstrate the potential for success at Notre Dame High School, may be admitted conditionally if resources are available to serve their needs.
