The Retreat Program at Notre Dame High School provides students with the opportunity to take time away from the stresses of daily life to reflect on their relationship with themselves, others, and God. Through our Retreat Program, NDB Campus Ministry’s goal is to encourage students to build community, develop their personal spirituality, reach out in loving service to others, and grow in wholeness as a person.
Prepared and planned by the Retreat Leadership Team, the Freshmen class will be divided into two groups and each group will spend a different day together in the spring to participate in activities, group discussions, personal reflection and prayer around the theme of Discovering Oneself.

Also offered to Juniors in the fall is the optional Junior Overnight Retreat. Juniors have the option of attending this in lieu of the Junior Service Retreat. During this overnight retreat experience the participants will begin to look at who they are becoming. Through a variety of interactive activities, personal reflections, group discussion and prayer the girls will be encouraged to take a look themselves and their spiritual journey and come to the realization that they are not a finished product yet. The retreat is led by senior leaders and Campus Ministry. 30 spots are available for this retreat and will be reserved on a first come, first serve basis.
This optional retreat is offered both in the fall and spring for the Seniors. For three-days and two-nights the girls will step away from NDB and take a “temporary stay” along the coast of California. Away from the business of life, the participants will be given the opportunity to look at where they’ve come from, who they have become at and dream about who they hope to be, all the while looking at where God has been and will be with each step of their journey. The retreat is led by alumni and Campus Ministry. 50 spots are available for each retreat and is will be reserved on a first come, first serve basis.

Look out for more details as the retreats come closer during the year.
Every student is required to attend and participate in her class level retreat each year. Students are notified of their retreat date in advance and attendance is required like a normal school day. Absences on retreat days are discouraged, but in the case of an absence, for example due to illness or family emergency, the student will be required to complete a make-up assignment. Details for specific retreats, including location, time frame, and transportation, are provided to students prior to each retreat. Students are excused from their classes on the day of their retreat, but are expected to plan ahead and make arrangements with their teachers to make up missed school-work.
