SCHOOL LIBRARIAN

Notre Dame High School, a Catholic independent school sponsored by the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur and serving 600 young women, has an opening for a part-time School Librarian for the 2008-2009 school year.

The Librarian serves as a program administrator, information specialist, teacher, and instructional partner.

The Librarian

  • guides and directs all of the activities related to the library program including management of staff, budgets, equipment, and facilities;
  • provides expertise in acquiring and evaluating information resources in all formats;
  • teaches students to access, evaluate, and use information from multiple sources; and
  • collaborates with teachers to identify links across student information needs, curricular content, learning outcomes, and a variety of print, non-print, and electronic information resources.

The successful candidate will have a MLS Degree and experience as a High School Librarian.

SUBSTITUTES

Notre Dame High School is seeking substitute teachers for the 2007-2008 academic year in the following disciplines:

  • English
  • Science
  • Foreign language
  • Social Sciences
  • Mathematics
  • Visual and Performing Arts
  • Religious Studies

These are part-time, as needed, temporary teaching positions teaching one to four sections a day.

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Arts or Science Degree
  • California Teaching Credential or Master's Degree
  • Teaching experience with adolescents
  • Strong communications skills

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in specific discipline
  • Experience teaching in discipline
  • 3 years of teaching experience

Salary and Benefits:

Notre Dame's Salary scale reflects the negotiated collective bargaining agreement established for the High Schools in the San Francisco Archdiocese. Degree and Credential preparation should be consistent with the guidelines set forth by the Archdiocese of San Francisco.
