Position: Communications Associate
Reports to: Director of Institutional Advancement
FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt Salaried

The Communications Associate is an instrumental position for the successful implementation of the comprehensive Institutional Advancement department. The Associate’s primary responsibility is to promote the school’s mission, values, and opportunities in both print and digital media, moving constituencies through informational stages to active engagement, and promoting positive relationships throughout the school community.

Responsibilities:

  • Create the marketing and communications portion of the Institutional Advancement Plan, developing strategies that educate the publics to maximize fundraising and admissions efforts.
  • Executes all print and digital collateral for admissions and fundraising programs.
  • Updates the overall presentation of the school’s website and keeps the development, admissions, and organizational profile sections relevant by posting timely updates, information and news.
  • Develops and maintains positive relationships with various internal constituents for story development.
  • Manages social media tools such as Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
  • Tracks use and response to marketing efforts and provides analytical reports.
  • Conducts sufficient research to keep current on trends, changing demographics, emerging technologies and other relevant issues as they pertain to successful public relations activities.
  • Contributes to and manages annual budget items related to communications.
  • As a member of the comprehensive Institutional Advancement department, attends night and weekend events or activities for departmental representation and to photograph or video stories.
  • Other duties as requested by Director of Institutional Advancement.

Requirements, Knowledge, and Traits:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications or marketing, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Individual must demonstrate effective communication skills.
  • Professional graphic design skills utilizing Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Knowledge of HTML, XHTML, PHP, CSS design, cross-browser and cross-platform compatibility, mySQL, javascript, Dreamweaver.
  • Track record of successful project management with delivery on-time.
  • Flexibility and a cooperative attitude.

Additional Beneficial Skills:

  • Creative writing skills with diverse voices.
  • Interest in photography and videography.

Compensation: mid $40’s, DOE

SCIENCE TEACHER

Notre Dame High School is seeking two Science Teachers for the academic year, 2009-2010. One position is full-time. The second position is full-time with the possibility of part-time. The courses will be a combination of Chemistry and Environmental Science, Chemistry and Biology, or Biology and Environmental Science.

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree either Earth Science, Life Science or Physical Science
  • California Standard Teaching Credential or in progress
  • Teaching experience with adolescents
  • Strong communications skills

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master Degree in Science and California Standard Teaching Credential
  • Experience teaching Chemistry/Biology/ESA and other science disciplines
  • 3 years minimum High School teaching experience
  • Experience teaching Advanced Placement

Salary and Benefits:

Notre Dame’s Salary scale reflects the negotiated collective bargaining agreement established for the High Schools in the San Francisco Archdiocese. Degree and Credential preparation should be consistent with the guidelines set forth by the Archdiocese of San Francisco. This position is eligible for benefits.
