Director of Finance and Business Services

Notre Dame High School, a Catholic independent school sponsored by the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur and serving 508 students, is seeking a Part-time Director of Finance and Business Services.

Reporting to the Principal, the Director of Finance and Business Services has responsibility for all financial aspects of the school’s operations including financial management and reporting, tuition collection, and budget generation and oversight. The successful candidate must have the ability to provide leadership in financial long-range planning, strategic problem solving, and development of institutional policies and procedures. Additional responsibilities and oversight include human resources, contract services, and local, state, and federal compliance. The Director of Finance and Business Services also provides support for Committees of the Board including the Finance Committee and the Building and Grounds Committee.

The ideal candidate will have a CPA or an MBA with demonstrated skills and experience in the management of an organization’s fiscal and operational functions and staff, preparing and managing operating and capital budgets, accounting for not-for-profit organizations, issuing financial statements, managing computer network systems, identifying and managing risk, and writing financial and personnel policies and procedures. Experience with Blackbaud’s Financial Edge and Raiser’s Edge products is desirable.

Director of Educational Technology

Organization Overview

Notre Dame High School seeks a Director of Educational Technology (DET) who will continue to integrate the research on how people learn with innovative use of digital technology to improve student learning. A primary emphasis of this position is the use of digital technology to improve curriculum and instruction in the classroom and online. In addition, this person will work with all major program area directors and offices to support their needs in technology. The Director of Educational Technology reports to the Principal and those to whom the Principal designates. The DET coordinates closely with the Information Technology Specialist (ITS) and the Technology Committee and serves as a primary leader and resource person for professional development and the use of information technology by all faculty and staff.

Major areas of responsibilities:
  • Consult regularly with the members of the Curriculum Council and Technology Committee on the effective use of technology.
  • Propose policies and procedures for acceptable use of educational technology across the school
  • Develop, manage, and meet the objectives of the technology plan to meet or exceed WCEA and WASC standards.
  • Keep current pending instructional and administrative technologies to maintain and utilize leading-edge technology
  • Manage the technology budget; make annual purchase recommendations
  • Collaborate with faculty, students, parents, Curriculum Council and Administrative Staff Council to determine technology needs.
  • Chair of the Technology Committee
  • Develops and manages with the Associate Principal technology professional development programs for all faculty/staff.
  • Design and maintain the overall function of the school website and monitor and update all website information.
  • Administer PowerSchool for staff training, registration and admissions, and website content
  • Smooth functioning of the Technology Department and seamless student and adult use of technology in and outside the school community
  • Network with other schools and businesses in the field of technology
Qualifications:
  • B.A. degree in an academic field
  • M.A degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Outstanding leadership and administrative skills
  • Solid teaching and technology background
  • Excellent communication and collaborative skills
  • A valid California Teaching Credential is preferred.
