The following scholarship opportunities are available to NDB students:
The LEAGUE is now accepting applications for the Knight scholarship—a national competition that awards three students $5,000 each for their writings or reflections on civic experiences in one of three categories: persuasive essay, personal narrative, or news story. The scholarship is open to any high school senior who is a U.S. citizen and has been accepted to a 2 or 4-year accredited institute. Deadline is March 6, 2009. Winners will be recognized at The LEAGUE National Awards Recognition Luncheon to be held in New York City on June 10, 2009. Students can apply by visiting www.theleague.org.

RMHC scholars - open to all high school seniors who are eligible to attend a two-year or a four-year college
RMHC HACER - currently enrolled high school seniors who have at least one parent of Hispanic heritage and who are eligible to attend a two year or four year college.
RMHC/ African American Future Achievers - currently enrolled high school seniors who have at least one parent of African American or Black Caribbean heritage and who are eligible to attend a two year or four year college.
RMHC/Asia Scholarship Program - currently enrolled high school seniors who have at least one parent of Asian-Pacific heritage and who are eligible to attend a two year or four year college.
Applications are available in the College Center. The deadline for applications is February 16, 2009. All applicants must submit a copy of their parents’ 1040 tax form.
- offers scholarship assistance to a high school graduate who will enter a career in the health care industry. The program excludes those wishing to pursue an MD, Ph.D. or D.D.S. All applicants must submit a copy of their parents’1040 tax form.
The deadline for applications is February 28, 2009. Applications are available in the College Center.
