LAST SHADOW DAY – November 24
It has been wonderful to have our NDB parents host "shadow parents" when they leave off their daughters. Parents of the 8th graders are appreciative of the opportunity to talk parent-to-parent about Notre Dame as a high school option and to get a brief tour. The last shadow date is November 24, 8:15 – 9:30 a.m. If you would be able to be one of our NDB parents who welcome and socialize with "shadow parents" on Monday, please contact Admissions Director, Shyrl McCormick, smccormick@ndhsb.org.
SURVIVAL SKILLS WORKSHOPS – November 25 and
December 2
There are two more Student Survival Skills workshops being offered this semester; both provide exciting opportunities for students to gear up for success on their final exams. Tuesday, November 25, Ms. Winifred Montgomery helps students learn how to OVERCOME PROCRASTINATION. Tuesday, December 2, Mrs. Elaine Calamba helps students organize themselves in PREPARING FOR FINAL EXAMS. Both workshops begin at 3:00 p.m. and are held in room 111. Students should ask their teachers whether extra credit points are provided for those who participate.
CALENDAR CHANGE – November 26
On Wednesday, November 26, we will be on a Friday Schedule as indicated on the master calendar. Dismissal time, however, has been changed from 12:30 – 1:00 p.m. because we will be sponsoring a Turkey Trot for students and faculty as our activity that day. Please note this change.
TURKEY TROT – November 26
On Wednesday, November 26, students, faculty, and staff will have the opportunity to prepare for Thanksgiving by participating in a Turkey Trot! The trot will take place on campus and will be no longer than 1 mile. All participants will be invited to wear costumes (a la Bay to Breakers). Dismissal for all students will be at 1:00 p.m. not 12:30 p.m. If you are interested in helping out OR if you would like to participate, please email tvallez@ndhsb.org.
YOUNG ALUMNAE NIGHT ON THE TOWN – November 29
Are you the parent of a NDB grad from 1995-2004? She is invited to Young Alumnae Night on the Town, on Saturday, November 29, at 8:30 p.m. at the Foster City Crowne Plaza Clubhouse Bistro. She must be 21 years old to attend. There will be a $10 cover charge, no host bar, HDTVs, pool tables, dancing, and karaoke. Click for the invitation. RSVP by November 26 to gjackson@ndhsb.org.
STUDENT VOLUNTEERS FOR ALUMNAE PHONATHON – December 1, 2, 3, 8, or 9
Does your daughter like to talk on the phone? Does she love Notre Dame? The Alumnae Phonathon needs students to make phone calls asking alumnae for donations to the school. Student volunteers will receive training, dinner, and 3 service hours for volunteering 5:45 – 8:45 p.m. on December 1, 2, 3, 8, or 9. Students may sign up outside Room 205 or email Mrs. Feeney at afeeney@ndhsb.org.
SOPHOMORE RETREAT – December 3
On Wednesday, December 3, the Sophomore class will gather for the Class of '11 Sophomore retreat. It will be a day filled with getting to know ourselves, our classmates, and God better through large group discussions and small group activities. We are looking for 2-3 parents who would want to help supervise the day. If you are available, please contact Kay at kpolintan@ndhsb.org or (650) 595-1913 ext. 325.

BLUE FORM UPDATE – SENIORS AND SENIOR PARENTS
The Blue Form will be given to each senior at the end of March;
it is the Award/Scholarship and Final Transcript Form we use to collect
important information. Please ask
your daughter to keep all letters that indicate she has received a college,
local, or community award or scholarship.
She must submit a copy of this information with the Blue Form to ensure
that award and scholarship information is accurate for the Graduation Program
and Academic Awards Celebration.
REMINDER ON CELL PHONES
We ask for parents' help and support regarding our cell phone
policy (see pg. 44 Parent/Student Handbook). We will continue to confiscate phones that are seen or that
go off during the regular school day.
Students who are caught texting will serve a 2 hour detention. Please help your daughter to cooperate
with our cell phone policy.
Students who need to access their cell phones during the day because of
family issues may come to the office and ask permission to use their phone.
READING CORNER DONATIONS
Ms. Fleig, Ms. Folco, and Ms. Wadbrook want to set up a joint
reading corner within the school and are looking for a small (6'x6')rug and
beanbag chairs. If you have any to
donate, we would appreciate them.
Please contact Ms. Folco at tfolco@ndhsb.org. Thank you.
