Thank You Sophomore Parents,
Recently, sophomore parents were invited to participate in a
survey for Mr. Barry Thornton who is completing a doctoral degree through the
University of San Francisco. The
anonymous survey responses went directly to Mr. Thornton, and he intends to use
the data in his dissertation.
Approximately 850 responses were received from parents of students in

NDB Annual Fund Update
Did you know that tuition covers only about 87% of the cost of a
Notre Dame education this year? 10% of this year's expenses must be covered by
fundraising programs, including our goal of $775,000 in the Annual Fund.
Our mission to provide the best education possible is challenged
each year by rising costs to operate the school - salaries,
electricity, gas, supplies, etc. - just like the rising costs you face at
home and in your business. Continuing in the tradition of the Sisters of
Notre Dame de Namur, we do not charge full tuition ~ for any student.
Essentially, the Annual Fund serves as the silent scholarship for
every NDB student, keeping tuition lower than the actual cost by over $2,200
per student.
In addition, being a Catholic, independent high school, we do not
receive State or Federal aid; we also do not receive any funding from the
Catholic church.
The Notre Dame Annual Fund is at the core of our fundraising which
covers the shortfall between the full cost to educate our students and the tuition
that we charge. In order to succeed, we invite alumni, parents - current and past, faculty, staff and friends to contribute to the Annual Fund. Every
gift makes a difference - your gift, large or small - supports the day to
day operations of Notre Dame - from curriculum development, to campus
ministry, athletics, visual and performing arts, student activities, building
maintenance and more. Your gift helps keep tuition costs down, for
all students.
We have achieved 52% of our
Annual Fund goal with only the participation of 32% of our current families.
What could we achieve with 100% of
current families contributing?
The current fiscal year runs from July 1, 2009 until June 30,
2010. Please consider making a gift to the Notre Dame Annual Fund this
year. Every gift - no matter what size - makes a difference in the
lives of our students every day.
Please click here to visit our website for a brief
movie with more details on the Annual Fund.
If you would like to discuss making a contribution,
or find out ways to make your gift, please contact me at 650.595.1913, ext.
370, or jclemens@ndhsb.org.
