Financial Aid Forms
Now Available

This is a reminder that financial aid forms are now available online at http://www.ndhsb.org/Admissions/financial_res.html.

For hard copies of these Financial Aid forms, please contact the Business office at 650-595-1913, ext. 230.  Please note that you have to apply for financial aid annually for eligibility.

All forms need to be received by February 5, 2010.

Families applying for financial aid need to file their tax returns early and follow the proper instructions and timelines for consideration and eligibility on your financial aid.  Because of the school's limited financial aid, resources will be awarded to those who submitted their complete applications on time.
Attention Senior
Parents

GolfBanner In last week's e-bulletin, information was disseminated regarding placing orders with Josten's.  Please note that the school will order the seniors' caps and gowns, 10 graduation announcements, and the Baccalaureate and graduation tickets.  Each senior will receive 6 Baccalaureate tickets, 6 graduation tickets, and 10 announcements.

Graduation packages, which include more graduation tickets, are available for bidding at our annual Auction.  Unless a senior turns in unused tickets for graduation, no other graduation tickets are available to families.  Students may receive more Baccalaureate tickets upon request.

Attention Freshman Parents and NDHS Freshmen

Thank you to those freshman parents who attended either "The Truth About Drinking" or "The Truth About Drugs" presentation.

Thank you also to those of you who had your freshman daughter accompany you.  Per your request, attached is the resource guide page that Mrs. Calamba included in her presentation to you.  When Mrs. Calamba returns from maternity leave, freshmen will have the opportunity to view either or both of the documentaries.  If you did not attend either of the presentations (September 28 or October 5), we ask that you complete an online course found at http://www.thecommunityofconcern.org/elearning/default.asp.

Please click on: "get started" under "E-learning" and follow the directions to complete the six sections of the online presentation. You will need to print certificates of completion after each section and send them to Mrs. Hutchins by December 7 in order for your daughter to be eligible to attend the Winter Formal at the end of January.  If your daughter is NOT planning to attend the formal, we ask that you complete the course as part of your expected partnership with the school.  Please do not hesitate to call Mrs. Hutchins should you have any questions (650 595-1913, ext. 205).

LOCATION:  Carlmont High School
Performing Arts Theater
ADMISSION: Free

No Woman Left BehindShelley Bustamante, a therapist at Carlmont High School, is organizing a presentation to inform and educate parents, students, and professionals about the occurrence of sexual assault of females at private parties.

In most cases, the victim is unsupervised and too intoxicated to defend herself. Our keynote speaker is Lauren Chief Elk, one of Carlmont's SOS students, who has appeared on KGO, ABC 20/20, KPIX, AND KRON and currently works at Rape Trauma Services.

Lauren will discuss the incident at De Anza College when she and her soccer teammate rescued a 17 year-old high school student who was being raped by members of the baseball team.
