aspirinThe National Reye's Syndrome Foundation has asked that we remind parents that "this year, with H1N1 a threat to our children, it is more important than ever to remind parents that kids and aspirin don't mix."

Please go to  www.reyessyndrome.org/schools.html to obtain free literature regarding Reyes Syndrome.

We also ask parents to be sure to notify the school if your daughter is diagnosed with the H1N1 flu.

NDB Strategic Planning
Focus Groups

The Board of Directors recently launched a strategic planning effort to create a long-term vision for Notre Dame High School and a supporting implementation plan.  The plan will be developed with input from throughout the Notre Dame community - including students, faculty, parents, alumnae, the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, and the broad network of friends and supporters of Notre Dame High School.  Focus groups with students and faculty are already underway, and additional focus groups for parents and alumnae are planned for later this month. Parents interested in participating in focus groups should contact the school at dev@ndhsb.org

NDB Annual Fund
By Julie Clemens,
Director of Institutional Advancement

As the end of the calendar year draws near, now is the time to make your gift to Notre Dame High School in order to maximize your 2009 income tax deductions. Your gift must be received at NDB by December 31 to qualify for 2009.

Aside from tax deductions, what motivates you to support any non-profit organization? Is it because you receive something in return? Join a successful venture with your peers? Believe in the mission? Makes you feel good? If any, or all, of these motivate you, then please put NDB at the top of your list!

Just like other types of non-profit organizations, all private schools, including NDB, fundraise to support their operations as an industry standard. We can not provide every opportunity to develop your daughter's individual talents without the achievement of our Annual Fund goal of $775,000.

Your gift makes the difference! Won't you make your contribution to the Annual Fund today?

Please click here to visit our website for a brief movie with more details on the Annual Fund.

If you would like to discuss making a contribution, or find out ways to make your gift, please contact me at 650.595.1913, ext. 370, or jclemens@ndhsb.org.

Thank you!

SOLICIT AUCTION ITEMS FROM THE BUSINESSES YOU FREQUENT!

We have begun soliciting all previous donors along with businesses in the local area to provide the many wonderful items that will be available at our auction in February.  NDB parents and students can greatly help contribute to this effort by asking for donations from your own hairdresser, manicurist, local grocer, favorite restaurant, retailer, or other businesses that you frequent.  A personal request goes a long way in successfully securing these donations.  Businesses can be solicited for goods and services, sponsorship donations and advertising in our auction program.

Extra Auction Donor Solicitation letters and forms are NOW available on the back of the bench outside of Room 105.
