Our students’ parents and grandparents say it best:
"My granddaughter…is currently enrolled in NDB Summer Academy, and she is loving every minute of it. She is taking two classes: Math Review – Algebra…and Study Skills… Her Math teacher has been a "dream"; she is excellent with the students, and I feel certain she will complete the course more confident in her Math skills and knowledge and eager to begin 8th Grade Math.”
-- Grandparent of 2009 NDB Summer Academy Student
“I just wanted to write and let you know how much my daughter is enjoying summer school this year. She is taking a writing class and a cooking class and is more than enthusiastic about both of them. The quality of the teachers seems excellent and I really appreciate the fun, engaging and educational program you have put together there this year. Even though it has only been a short period of time, I can see my daughter blossoming and becoming a little more confident in her abilities. She is already talking about next year…”
-- Pam Pontius, Parent of NDB Summer Academy Student
“(My daughter) has had a wonderful time at the summer academy. She is leaning a lot and now she is interested in attending school there for High School. Thank you again for a wonderful three weeks.”
-- Parent of NDB Summer Academy Student
“I wanted to drop you a quick note to let you know how much fun [my daughter] had today. She can't stop telling us about her classes, teachers and what she learned/experienced. Also, the soda fountain and moving around from class to class were all very exciting.”

Now entering its third year, NDB Summer Academy was created as a program for middle school girls looking for a different kind of summer experience. Students may choose from a wide variety of academic, enrichment, and sports offerings and get a taste of the “high school” experience as they move from class to class on the beautiful Notre Dame Belmont Campus. We look forward to being a part of your summer!
NDB Summer Academy’s academic and enrichment program is a three-week, full-day, Monday through Thursday summer school program that will run this year from June 14th through July 1st on the Notre Dame High School campus in Belmont. The Academy experience includes full use of the Notre Dame High School facilities and grounds, including the Moore Pavilion sports complex, playing fields, Tiger TV Studio, sculpture studio, computer labs, library, and the science labs. Delicious lunch choices will again be available for purchase every day in the dining room.
NDB Summer Academy offers over 25 courses - something for everyone. The Summer 2010 program will include our most popular courses from previous years, along with some exciting new ones, including CSI Forensics, Vampires in Contemporary Culture, Introduction to Fencing, Ancestry: Exploring Your Roots, Video Production and Broadcast News, Mixed Media Sculpture Studio, Creative Writing with Grammar, Study Skills and Organization, Math Review I and II (for 7th and 8th graders), HSPT - High School Entrance Test Preparation, Just Dance!, Beginning Tennis, American Sign Language I and II, Teen Actors' Guild, Party in the U.S.A. - Party Planning, Yoga and Pilates, Journalism, and more. Course fees are listed for each course.
Sports Camps at NDB Summer Academy offer an active, high-energy full or half day program aimed at providing individualized service, attention, play, and instruction for girls grades 6-9. Camps are scheduled to allow students to mix athletics with academic and enrichment courses for a full-day experience. Through the medium of athletics girls are exposed to valuable lessons in developing teamwork skills, a competitive nature, and self-confidence. It is the goal of the Summer Camps program to engage critical thinking and develop the gifts and talents of each individual by having fun in an athletic environment.
Choose from a variety of sports camps including Girls Got Game!, all sports experience for girls entering Grades 6, 7 and 8, from June 14 to July 1. Also offered are two levels of more intensive basketball and volleyball for girls entering Grades 6 and 7, and for girls entering Grades 8 and 9. These basketball and volleyball “intensive” camps each run one week from 12:00 to 3:15 p.m. Specific Sports Camp fees are listed below.
