Prep for High School English
In this course, students will review grammar and composition skills and will work on selections from the Summer Reading List. This course is intended for those who are
required or recommended to attend Summer School. This course is limited to students currently enrolled in the Notre Dame High School Class of 2012.

Get Your Summer Reading Done
In this course students will develop skills in comprehension, analysis, and discussion, as applied to the freshman Summer Reading material. The curriculum is geared toward the student who wishes to enhance her reading skills and get a head start on the required reading. You will also learn the tricks, techniques, and tools that help high school students earn "A" grades. This course is limited to students currently enrolled in the Notre Dame High School Class of 2012.

Poetry Appreciation
In this course, students will be introduced to some of the world's great poetry in a setting designed to help them develop a love for the art form. Students will explore a wide variety of poetic styles, and will develop an appreciation for the deeper meaning of the works and discover the techniques by which they are achieved. Students will read great works and compose their own. This course is intended for students who love the English language and wish to develop greater mastery of critical thinking skills.

Physical Education (5 Units: Satisfies NDB's PE-1 Requirement)
Note: This is a 60-hour course. In order to meet the state-mandated hour requirements and receive course credit, students must have no absences.
This course is limited to students currently enrolled in Notre Dame High School (classes 2009-2012). Completion of this course satisfies the NDB graduation requirement for PE-1. A survey of sports is provided with an emphasis on health/nutrition and the importance of physical activity. Students should enroll in this course if they wish to provide elective space in their schedule during the school year.

Personal Finance for Teens-- Your Money and Your Life
How would you like to know how to become a millionaire without winning the lottery or being the Survivor? How about simply learning how to think about the world of money - about career choices, budgeting, using credit wisely, saving and investing, and affording what you really want in life? This course, created by the National Endowment for Financial Education, will help you accomplish all of these goals. During these three weeks, financial topics that may seem either mysterious or scary will become both understandable and manageable. Think of this course as an investment in yourself - and your future!
