We are here to support you

It is our mission in the Counseling Center to assist each student in the development of her whole self, both in the present and in preparation for her future. Therefore, Notre Dame provides three full-time Counselors to support young women in all aspects of their goal-development and goal-achievement, with personal, academic and college counseling.

Our goal is to get to know our students. A student is assigned a Counselor who will work with them throughout their four years at NDB. With this system, students have an excellent opportunity to connect with their assigned counselor and create a working relationship to help her reach her goals. We foster an open and welcoming environment in the Counseling Center, students may make appointments in addition to the scheduled appointments set by her Counselor at any point throughout the year.

As a means of achieving these ends, our intent is to:

  • assist each student to develop her academic potential in preparation for college and beyond.
  • help each student come to a better understanding of herself, in relationship to her own goals and values, and consistent with the justice and charity of a Christian community.
  • encourage each student to use her own life experiences as a foundation for developing responsibility and sound judgment.
  • serve as liaison between administration, faculty, parents and students.

Always, our programs and policies are designed with the intention of helping each student identify who she wants to become in the world, and achieve that goal.
