Bequest in Will

This is a gift you make by naming Notre Dame High School in your will.  The tax benefit is that the estate tax deduction is for the value of your bequest to Notre Dame High School.  This gives you flexibility in providing for family needs first.

Living Trust

This is a trust you establish to take effect during your lifetime.  There is a possible savings in estate taxes if Notre Dame High School is the beneficiary of the trust remainder.

Real Estate Gift

This is a donation of real property, either in full or with a retained life estate.  There is an immediate income tax deduction for the charitable value of the gift, and there is no capital gains tax.  This can allow you to live in your home and still receive a charitable deduction.

Annuity Trust or Unitrust

This is a trust that pays a set or variable income to you or those you name before Notre Dame High School receives the remainder. There are income tax savings from the deduction, no capital gains tax liability, and possible estate tax savings. Another benefit is that this provides a fixed annual income for the donor or other beneficiary (annuity trust). Income could increase if trust value increases (unitrust).

Life Insurance Gift

This is a gift of an old or new policy with Notre Dame High School as the beneficiary and the owner. The tax benefit is that there is an immediate income tax deduction for the gift's value. There are also possible estate tax savings. This provides a way to make a significant gift with little expenditure.

Matching Gift

This is a donation from a business with a matching gift program.  Check and see if your employer will match your gift.

Endowment

There are different kinds of endowments.  A family endowment may be established to provide a scholarship for a Notre Dame High School student.  A donation of $10,000 is the minimum required.  A memorial endowment may be established to honor a loved one.  All those listed will be included in the prayers of the Notre Dame High School community.
