Academic and College Counseling
College Bound
NDB gets students ahead of the curve by beginning a rigorous college preparation process their freshman year and sustaining growth throughout their four year career at NDB. Over four years, students grow equipped with skills to apply for and gain entrance to competitive colleges across the country.
Naviance
Students use Naviance to keep track of career searches, college lists, recommendation letters, resumes, college rep visits, scholarships and more.
College Representative Visits
Each fall, over forty college representatives come to NDB to visit our Academic and College Counseling Center. These reps give presentations to juniors and seniors and answer any questions. To view the list of college visits, please access your Naviance College Visits Calendar.
Concurrent Enrollment
Students may opt to take courses at community colleges for college credit with counselor approval. To begin the process, review the Concurrent Enrollment Packet, which includes the Steps to Enrollment.
Standardized Testing
College Financial Aid
Below are a number of ways that students can take advantage of financial aid opportunities for college. Students will also have a Financial Aid Night in the fall.
College Bound Athletes
Every year, NDB students are recruited by various colleges to play Division I, II, III, or NAIA sports. Notre Dame Belmont is in compliance with NCAA and has four-year curriculum approval (please see your college counselor for this information). Although athletic recruitment is driven by students, anyone entering Notre Dame should notify the College Athletic Coordinator and College Counselor (see Staff) to start the process. In the meantime, students who are interested in playing collegiate sports should sign up with NCAA Eligibility Center. Division I, II, III and NAIA approved curriculum.
College Essay Writing Immersion
Rising senior students were hard at work over the summer drafting college essays in a week-long College Essay Workshop with Abby Miller, NDB's College Adviser. Students were challenged to identify topics that empower them to express their authentic selves in their writing.
