Application Process & Events

If you are applying for the next school year (2021-2022):
The admissions process begins with submitting an inquiry. Within the inquiry form you can schedule a shadow visit or register for any of our admissions events.  We encourage you to attend our general Becoming Notre Dame Open House on October 25, 2020 at 11:00 am and our more specific Notre Dame Night on Thursday, November 12, 2020 at 7:00 pm. Our goal is to give you every opportunity to discover Notre Dame for yourself!  Please note that both of these events will be held virtually, due to COVID-19 health and safety precautions.

If you are not applying for this year but are interested in learning more: Please complete the online inquiry form and we will keep you posted regarding our events for prospective students and parents.  We are hosting 6th Grade Day on Thursday, April 22, 2021 and 7th Grade Day on Friday, April 16, 2021 (register here).

    Electronic Notification - March 19, 2021 @ 4:00 p.m.
  • New Parent /Student Welcome and Placement Testing - Saturday, March 27, 2021; 9:00 a.m.
  • 7th Grade Day - April 16, 2021; 9:00 a.m.-1:30 p.m. (includes lunch)
  • 6th Grade Day - April 22, 2021; 3:30-5:00 p.m.
  • Welcome Dinner - April 29, 2021; 6:00 p.m.- 8:30 p.m.

Application Checklist for the 2021-2022 school year:

  • Complete Notre Dame High School's Online Inquiry Form to schedule a Shadow Visit. If you are ready to apply, please continue to the application.

  • Complete Notre Dame High School's Online Application
    • Courtesy Application Due Date: Friday, December 4, 2020; Fee: $75 
    • Final Application Due Date: Friday, January 8, 2021; Fee: $110

  • Take the High School Placement Test (HSPT) and Writing Sample (required for freshmen).
    • Please register to take the HSPT on your admissions portal or by emailing admissions@ndhsb.org. 
    • Testing date is on January 9, 2021 at 8:30 AM. with a make-up test date on January 16, 2021. You must have applied to Notre Dame to take the HSPT at Notre Dame.
    • Extended Time for applicants with learning differences is available if current documentation has been submitted prior to the date of the test. To be eligible for the Empowered for Success Program, please submit your current documentation to Cathy Lewis at clewis@ndhsb.org.  For extended time on the HSPT, please download the extended time forms in the yellow box and submit with your documentation. Extended time is available on both test dates.
       
  • Submit the Clergy Recommendation Form to your church/ parish/ faith community if you are actively involved in a faith community or church. This form is not mandatory for the standard application, but is required for financial aid applications to the San Francisco Archdiocese. See Financing Options under the Tuition and Fees tab.

  • Submit 4 forms (box to the right) to be completed by the applicant's current teachers and school administration. These can also be found within your SchoolAdmin portal and can be submitted online, or downloaded from our website and submitted in hardcopy form.
    • Transcript Release Form
      • It is important to note that Ds and Fs in 7th and 8th grade do not meet our admissions criteria. Additionally, HSPT results should indicate performance on grade-level. 
    • Current English Teacher Recommendation Form
    • Current Mathematics Teacher Recommendation Form
    • Confidential Recommendation Form (completed by a counselor or principal)
  • Schedule a family interview on February 4, February 6, or February 8, 2021.

  • Admission decision letters are mailed on Thursday, March 18, 2021.
  • Electronic Notifications are sent on Friday, March 19, 2021 at 4:00 p.m.
  • Register by March 27, 2021 and come to our new Parent/Student Welcome on March 27, 2021 at 9:00 am. 
    • Math Placement Testing will be held on March 27, 2021 at 9:30 a.m. Make-up times will be scheduled.
