Application Process & Events

If you are applying for the next school year (2019-2020):
The admissions process begins with submitting an inquiry. Within the inquiry form you can schedule a shadow visit or register for any of our admissions events.  We encourage you to attend our general Open House on Sunday, October 21, 2018 and our more specific Information Night on Thursday, November 15, 2018. We are hosting a 7th and 8th Grade Leadership Summit on March 7, 2019. Our goal is to give you every opportunity to discover Notre Dame for yourself!

If you have documentation related to a learning difference, an appointment with Michelle Bizeau, the Director of the Empowered for Success Program, will be included as part of the admissions process. 

If you are not applying for this year but are interested in learning more: Please complete the online inquiry form and we will keep you posted regarding our events for prospective students and parents.  We are hosting the 7th and 8th Grade Leadership Summit on March 7, 2019, as well as 6th and 7th Grade Day on Thursday, April 11, 2019. You can register for either event on the inquiry form or through your SchoolAdmin portal.

  • Courtesy Online Application Due - December 14, 2018, $75 fee
  • Final Online Application Due - January 11, 2019, $110 fee
  • Tuition Assistance Application Due - January 11, 2019
  • HSPT - January 12, 2019 and January 19, 2019; 8:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. (Applicants only)
  • Family Interview - February 7, February 9, and February 11, 2019 - Schedule online
  • 7th/8th Grade Leadership Summit - March 7, 2019; 3:30-5:30 p.m.
  • Acceptance Letters Mailed - March 21, 2019
    Electronic Notification - March 22, 2019 @ 4:00 p.m.
  • New Parent / Student Welcome - Saturday, March 30, 2019; 9:30 a.m.
  • 6th/7th Grade Day - April 11, 2019; 3:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
  • Welcome Dinner - May 2, 2019; 6:00 p.m.- 8:30 p.m.
  • Uniform Day - June 8, 2019;  9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
  • Freshman Orientation and Welcome - August 15-16, 2019
  • New Parent Orientation and BBQ - August 16, 2019, 5:00 p.m.
  • First Day of School - August 20, 2019 

Application Checklist for the 2019-2020 school year:

  • Complete Notre Dame High School's Online Inquiry Form to schedule a Shadow Visit. If you are ready for the next step, please continue to the application.

  • Complete Notre Dame High School's Online Application
    • Courtesy Application Due Date: Friday, December 14, 2018; Fee: $75 
    • Final Application Due Date: Friday, January 11, 2019; Fee: $110

  • Take the High School Placement Test (HSPT) and Writing Sample (required for freshmen).
    • Please register to take the HSPT on your admissions portal or by emailing 
    • Testing date is on January 12, 2019 at 8:30 AM. with a make-up test date on January 19, 2019. You must have applied to Notre Dame to take the HSPT at Notre Dame.
    • Extended Time for applicants with learning differences is available if current documentation has been submitted prior to the date of the test. To be eligible for the Empowered for Success Program, please submit your current documentation. For extended time on the HSPT, please download the extended time forms in the yellow box and submit with your documentation. Extended time is available on both test dates.
    • Click here to schedule a Parent Information Meeting with Michelle Bizeau, the Director of the Empowered for Success program.
  • Submit the Clergy Recommendation Form to your church/ parish/ faith community if you are actively involved in a faith community or church. This form is not mandatory for the standard application but is required for financial aid applications to the San Francisco Archdiocese. See Financing Options under the Tuition and Fees tab.

  • Submit 4 forms (box to the right) to be completed by the applicant's current teachers and school administration. These can also be found within your SchoolAdmin portal and can be submitted online, or downloaded from our website and submitted in hardcopy form.
    • Transcript Release Form
      • It is important to note that Ds and Fs in 7th and 8th grade do not meet our admissions criteria. Additionally, HSPT results should indicate performance on grade-level. 
    • Current English Teacher Recommendation Form
    • Current Mathematics Teacher Recommendation Form
    • Confidential Recommendation Form
  • Schedule a family interview on February 7, February 9, or February 11, 2019.

  • Admission decision letters mailed Thursday, March 21, 2019.
  • Electronic Notification is sent on Friday, March 22, 2019, 4:00 p.m.
  • Register by March 30, 2019, 9:00 a.m. and come to our new Parent/Student Welcome.
    • Math Placement Testing begins on March 30, 2019, 9:30 a.m. Make-up times will be scheduled.
