Notre Dame offers approximately 213 leadership positions.
Student Leadership provides a variety of opportunities for students to become leaders on campus. Roughly half are elected positions while the other half are Leadership Board positions where candidates are selected based upon an extensive application and interview process. Current Leadership Boards include but are not limited to the following: Ambassadors, Spiritual Life, California Scholarship Federation, National Honor Society, Technology Liaisons, Link Crew, and Health & Wellness.
Our leadership election and Board application process begins in early Spring. Students interested in leadership are invited to a general information meeting where explanations and expectations for each Board and Student Council position are given. Students are encouraged to explore and decide which of the many leadership opportunities best suits her current skill set along with her desire for growth. Our students are limited to no more than two major leadership positions. Notre Dame leadership expectations are such that by limiting a student to 2 major positions will still afford her a robust leadership experience without putting her at risk of overextending herself.
The order of elections is deliberately staggered, beginning with the highest leadership positions on down, thereby allowing any unelected student the opportunity to continuing running for another office. Our Board positions follow a similar corresponding schedule. Notre Dame has created a leadership culture that essentially provides ample leadership opportunities for the student who desires to lead.
