Carolyn Hutchins has spent most of her career working in single-gender girls’ schools and has been at Notre Dame for 22 years. As an advocate of women’s education, she is a firm believer in single gender schools for girls which provide them with opportunities in academics and leadership in all areas, and which help them become strong advocates for themselves. Over her 22 years at Notre Dame, Mrs. Hutchins, in tandem with fellow administrators and colleagues, has initiated programs and services to enhance student support. She has a BA in English and an MA in Educational Administration and sees her role as an Administrator as an opportunity to be an advocate for her students. She has also taught English and Religious Studies. Carolyn served as a Jesuit Volunteer being part of the first group assigned to Guam and Micronesia. She tries to find time daily to walk for renewal and health. Her family and career are priorities in her life.
