Forensics Students Meet Alice Neumann Hilker '93, Criminalist and Supervisor of San Mateo County Forensic Biology and DNA Unit

Forensics students met esteemed Alumna Alice Neumann Hilker ‘93, Criminalist and Supervisor of the San Mateo County Forensic Biology and DNA Unit, and Thanna Rajapakse, Criminalst at the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office Crime Lab. Students learned about their career paths and the processes that they use to identify criminals including fingerprint analysis, DNA sampling and more.

Alice graduated from Notre Dame Belmont (NDB) in 1993 and earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish at Santa Clara University. She then went on to George Washington University in Washington D.C. and received a Master of Science in Forensic Science. Alice loves managing the DNA Unit, doing casework analysis and training new Crime Scene Investigators for San Mateo County. Alice is just one example of how NDB Alumnae excel in the STEM field and work to create positive change in our community. Once a Tiger, always a Tiger!
