Last week Notre Dame Belmont (NDB) celebrated Foundress Week, a great time to come together as a community to celebrate the power of an NDB education.

The week kicked off with a Foundress Day Mass on Tuesday, February 3 honoring Sisters of Notre Dame Co-Foundresses Sister Julie Billiart and Françoise Blin de Bourdon. The community came together to sing songs and had a special visit from NDB Alumna Sister Gillian Wallace P.h.D., who is always a bright light, reminding us to pause and reflect while sharing a laugh and reminding us to not taking ourselves too seriously!

On Wednesday, February 4, we had a special visit from Guest Speaker Lizzie Dalton from Mercy Beyond Borders who spoke with students about how to help empower women and girls through education.

The week culminated with cookie decorating and affirmation card making activities during lunch as students paused to offer gratitude for our great school and reflect about how they would like to make a positive impact in the world.

With our 102nd class graduating this spring, we are incredibly grateful for the lineage of women who have come before us. Go Tigers!
