Living Our Hallmarks: Creating Community Beyond Campus

Last month, a group of Notre Dame Belmont Tigers traveled to Emmanuel College in Boston to attend the annual Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur High School Leadership Conference. More than 90 students from 10 SNDdN-sponsored high schools came together for a week of learning, leadership and friendship rooted in the mission of St. Julie Billiart.

Throughout the conference, our students connected with Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur and peers from across the country as they explored St. Julie's mission and ministry. They participated in leadership and team-building activities, collaborated to research and develop a social justice project, and strengthened the bonds that unite the Notre Dame community. Along the way, they also enjoyed experiencing Boston—including a memorable Red Sox game.

The week concluded with a beautiful prayer service in the chapel at Emmanuel College, sending students home inspired to continue building community and leading with compassion. Experiences like these remind us that the Notre Dame sisterhood extends far beyond our campus and that, together, we are called to serve others with faith, hope and love.
