Welcome the Lunar New Year: The Year of the Horse

Students celebrate the Lunar New Year

The Lunar New Year came to life at Notre Dame Belmont (NDB) with a lively event in the dining room this week. Students enjoyed delicious treats from China and crafted lanterns that symbolize joy, good luck and family reunion while driving away evil spirits with their bright red color. Students got hands-on practice with writing Chinese calligraphy to welcome good fortune and prosperity. Tigers also enjoyed traditional games like Bầu Cua Cá Cọp (Gourd-Crab-Fish-Tiger) and received red envelopes filled with gifts. The celebration was a wonderful way to honor cultural traditions and share in the excitement of the Year of the Horse.
